  VIOLIN – contest on the name of PROF. GEORGI BADEV
  Group I - up to 11 years of age - born after 1.01.2006
  1. Concerto – 1-st or 2-nd and 3-rd parts with cadenzas.
  2. A work by a Bulgarian or a contemporary composer.
  3. A piece of candidate’s own choice
  Duration up to 20 min.

  Group II - up to 15 years of age - born after 1.01.2002
  1. 1-st or 2-nd and 3-rd parts from one of the following concertos of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 1 in
  B flat major, K. 207, or Violin Concerto No. 2 in D major K. 211, or Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K. 216 with cadenzas.
  2. One solo Caprice or Etude from: Kreutzer, Rode, Gavini?s “24 Matin?es”, Dont, Wieniawski Op.10 or op.18 or Paganini
  3. A virtuoso piece
  4. A work by a Bulgarian or a contemporary composer.
  Duration up to 25 min.

  Group III - up to 19 years of age - born after 1.01.1998
  Round 1
  1. Johann Sebastian Bach – 1st and 2nd movements from the Sonatas for solo violin, or 2 contrast movements from the
  Partitas for solo violin or a Chaconne from Partita N°2.
  2. One caprice of candidate’s own choice from the following composers: Pietro Locatelli,
  Henryk Wieniawski op.10 & op.18, Karol Lipi?ski, Niccol? Paganini op.1
  3. A work by a Bulgarian or a contemporary composer.
  Duration up to 25 min.
  Round 2
  1. One of the following Sonatas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – K.376 till K.547
  2. A romantic or a contemporary concerto – 1st movement.
  3. A virtuoso piece of candidate’s own choice.
  Duration up to 50 min.

  Group IV - up to 26 years of age - born after 1.01.1991
  Round 1
  1. Johann Sebastian Bach – 1st and 2nd movement of a solo sonata or a Chaccona from a 2-nd partita for solo violin
  2. One caprice of candidate’s own choice from the following composers: Pietro Locatelli, H. Henryk Wieniawski op.10 & op.18,
  Karol Lipinski, Niccol? Paganini op.1
  3. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Concerto – 1st movement with a cadenza from Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K.216,
  Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major K. 218, or Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, K. 219
  4. A work by a Bulgarian or a contemporary composer.
  Duration: up to 45 minutes
  Round 2
  1. One Sonata for violin and piano: Sergei Prokofiev – op.80, op.94 bis, Johannes Brahms – op.78, op.100, op.108.
  2. A virtuoso piece.
  3. Antonio Vivaldi – one of the Le quattro stagioni concertos with a chamber orchestra without a conductor.
  Duration: up to 45 minutes

  1. A romantic or a contemporary concerto
